Care Instructions
Your keyboard wrist rest is hand-tufted with love. Follow these simple care tips to keep it looking beautiful for years to come.
Regular Maintenance
Keep your wrist rest fresh with these easy daily habits:
- Shake gently to remove dust and debris
- Use a lint roller for quick clean-ups
- Vacuum on LOW power using a nozzle WITHOUT a rotating brush
- Handle with clean hands whenever possible
Tip: A soft fabric brush works great for regular upkeep!
Dealing with Loose Threads
Some fiber shedding is completely normal for new tufted products, especially in the first few weeks.
Important: If you notice a loose thread or loop:
- DO NOT pull it - This can damage the surrounding fibers
- Instead, carefully trim it with sharp scissors
- Cut the thread flush with the pile surface
Spot Cleaning Spills & Stains
Accidents happen! Here's how to handle them:
For Fresh Spills:
- Act quickly - Blot (don't rub!) with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel
- Absorb as much liquid as possible
- Work from the outside of the spill inward to prevent spreading
For Light Stains:
- Dampen a clean cloth with warm water and a drop of mild soap
- Gently blot the stain in the direction of the pile
- Wipe with a clean, damp cloth to remove soap residue
- Allow to air dry naturally - avoid hairdryers or direct heat
Recommended Cleaning Products
For deeper cleaning, these products work well with tufted rugs:
-
Carpet Shampoo (for delicate fabrics)
- Dilute in warm water (follow product instructions)
- Apply foam only with a soft sponge
- Let sit for 30-40 minutes
- Vacuum once fully dry
-
Dry Foam Cleaners
- Shake and apply foam directly on stain
- Wait 10-15 minutes
- Gently scrub with soft brush
- Vacuum the residue
Always test any cleaning product on a hidden area first!
What NOT to Do
To keep your wrist rest in great condition, please avoid:
- Machine washing - Can damage the structure and backing
- Soaking in water - Can cause warping and damage
- Using harsh chemicals or bleach
- High heat from hairdryers or placing near heaters
- Pulling loose threads - Always trim instead
- Rubbing stains - Always blot gently
- Rotating brush vacuums - Can pull out fibers
Storage Tips
If you need to store your wrist rest:
- Ensure it's completely clean and dry
- Roll it (don't fold) to prevent creases
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- Avoid placing heavy objects on top
